5. The Dalmatian Series

By the summer of 2022, I had become increasingly confident that my use of patterns as a vehicle to enhance visual engagement could have applications beyond visual art, particularly in marketing and advertising.

For instance, I wondered if popular brand-logo patterns on designer handbags and clothes could be presented in more complex arrangements so as to create a sustained visual sense of engagement.

I was also curious about presenting such ideas in a more playful manner and even thought about using objects like handbags and shoes as the main focal point, leaving the background patterns to do the job of creating and sustaining visual engagement.
