8. Selected works (2018-2022)

In 2017, I worked on a contract basis in the English department of the China Southern University of Science and Technology, teaching academic English. Working with some of the brightest university students in China was a truly rewarding experience, but the demanding work left little time for my own art projects.

In January 2018, I transferred to a foreign language high school in Shenzhen’s Futian District. It was closer to home and offered a better working arrangement. The school appreciated my teaching style and gave me complete freedom to create my own teaching content. This allowed me to have more time to work on my own creative projects and continue to freelance as an art teacher on weekends and evenings.

During this period, my ideas about using patterns as a tool to enhance visual engagement began to take shape. I also explored new aspects of photography, learned new techniques on the iPad, and broadened my painting skills.y
